Frequently Asked Questions
Aerospace Alloy FAQWhich alloys do you supply for aerospace turbine components?
Inconel 718 for turbine discs, rings and casings, Waspaloy for HPT discs and seal rings (service to 760°C), A-286 for casing bolts (700°C), Inconel X-750 for hot-section fasteners to 815°C and Nimonic 90 for blades and high-temperature springs to 920°C.
What certifications come with aerospace forgings and wire?
AMS 5662 / AMS 5663 for Inconel 718 (minimum 1275 MPa tensile and 1035 MPa yield in the solution + aged condition), AMS 5708 for Waspaloy and AMS 5731 for A-286. Deliveries include ultrasonic inspection, grain size control and full AMS heat traceability.
Can you match ASTM A453 Grade 660 for engine fasteners?
Yes. A-286 is supplied to AMS 5731 and ASTM A453 with 1000 MPa minimum tensile and 690 MPa minimum yield in the aged condition, used for turbine casing bolts and engine mounts.
